BASIC INTRO TAROT WORKSHOPS

Do you want to learn the basics of tarot in a small group of friends or family?

I offer the following basic intro tarot workshops for groups of 3 or 4 people. The workshops last 4 hours. The price is for the whole workshop:

4-hour basic intro workshop major arcana:                        EUR 300,00

4-hour basic intro workshop minor arcana                         EUR 300,00

4-hour basic intro workshop court cards                            EUR 300,00

Times, dates and locations are decided on together, in consultation. I can also come to you.

  • All workshops are interactive
  • Each of these workshops is based on the Rider Waite cards – the most commonly used deck. These are the best cards for beginners. You will need your own cards in order to take part.
  • I recommend you follow these workshops in this order. Lots of people also just content learning about the major arcana, or only progress to studying the minor arcana and the court cards much later. This is completely fine.

Description of the basic intro tarot major arcana workshop

The major arcana cards are or can be seen as archetypes, symbolizing universal human experiences and states of being.

The workshop starts with a short meditation and an explanation of the history and structure of the tarot. We then look at and discuss the 22 cards of the major arcana .

Because there are only a small number of people taking part there will be lots of space for personal attention, questions, explanations, etc. During the last hour you’ll practice doing a few short, simple spreads and reading the cards yourself. By the end of the workshop you should have a simple grasp of the cards of the major arcana and what it means to read the cards for yourself or someone else.

At the end of the workshop I’ll give you a short brochure with a brief summary of the meanings of the cards, and some links to  sites on the Internet.

Description of the basic intro tarot minor arcana workshop

The minor arcana cards represent more everyday experiences than those of the major arcana.

I start the minor arcana workshop with a brief meditation and then explain how the minor arcana is built up. We then go through the 4 suits of pentacles, cups, swords and wands, the numbers ace to ten and the four court cards of each suit.

We will also discuss the four court cards of each suit (page, knight, king and queen). If  you want to examine the court cards in more depth I also offer an intro workshop  exclusively focusing on these cards. See below.

I provide a manual with a description of how the tarot is built up to refer to during the workshop.

Because there are only a small number of people taking part there will be lots of space for personal attention, questions, explanations, etc.

During the last hour you’ll practice doing a few short, simple spreads and reading the cards yourself. If you’re familiar with the major arcana you may involve these cards too. By the end you should have a simple grasp of the minor arcana cards.

Description of the basic intro tarot court cards workshop

More than the other tarot cards, the court cards represent actual people in your life. They could also signify yourself, or sometimes a group of people.

In the workshop we will look at and discuss the court cards in each suit (e.g. the page, knight, king and queen of wands), as well as the court cards of each type (e.g. the four queens). We will discuss each of their personalities, strengths and weaknesses, their advice and the messages they carry. During the workshop you’ll receive a short manual about the court cards.

Because there are only a small number of people taking part there will be lots of space for personal attention, questions, explanations, etc.

During the last hour, with my help you’ll practice doing a few short, simple spreads with the court cards. We may also at some point involve the major arcana and/or minor arcana cards. By the end of the workshop you will have a better grasp of the court cards and will be able to continue to explore them yourself with more confidence.
